One of the most stunningly beautiful and beloved bel canto operas of all time, Lucia di Lammermoor is the tragic story of Lucia Ashton, who is trapped in a deadly feud between her family and the Ravenswoods. While her brother, Enrico, plots to save his failing fortune by forcing her to marry his wealthy ally, Arturo Bucklaw, Lucia secretly pledges her love to her family’s sworn enemy, Edgardo of Ravenswood. Through brutal mind games, forged letters and ruthless deception, Enrico tricks Lucia into believing her lover has betrayed her. When Edgardo shows up uninvited at the wedding ceremony, the castle is thrown into an uproar. Broken by grief, Lucia agrees to marry Bucklaw, driving her into a legendary descent into madness that leads to the bloody murder of Bucklaw and chaos at Ravenswood Castle. Featuring fiendishly virtuosic vocal fireworks and luscious melodies across the cast, this spectacular opera is one you won’t want to miss.
